ASSAM NEWS LETTER JULY 2005
Praise the Lord for all the good things He have been doing in Goalpara, Kamrup in Assam and East Garo Hills in Meghalaya, North East India. The Lord is moving in a powerful way and many have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. From January till June, 2005 there were 52 new souls and were given water baptism and still more are ready for baptism. Please pray for more God뭩 protection and power on all the workers in our mission field as we are working very hard to win more souls. We praise God that He has given us two villages to reach and now we have believers to start two new churches before the end of next month. Please pray for those new believers and also who are still unreached. We praise God for His protection in the midst of persecutions in our day to day ministries in Assam.
1. SOME PROBLEMS There is little problem in our mission field with new doctrine as Seventh Day Adventists are trying to steal our members with false promises. Two of our Evangelists who were supported by us and did their trainings in Nagaland have left us and joined Seventh Day Adventist as they promised them to pay more money and also promised to send them abroad for study. We released them on July 01,2005. The other five Evangelists and all the 22 Pastors are now more united as I conducted a seminar on July 2-3, 2005 at KOTHAKUTHI mission station. They had so many questions but cleared now from the Word of God. They are all untrained and we are praying to give them more trainings in the days to come. Please pray for all the Pastors so that they will have more understanding of the Word of God and help our new believers.
2. GENANG RABHA CHURCH
Genang Rabha Church is in East Garo Hills, Meghalaya which was planted in 2003. The three years old church and Christians are now mission minded church. The Church has selected a committed young man and now in year 2 of Bachelor of Theology at Disciple Bible College, Dimapur,Nagaland. The new Church is sponsoring him with full scholarship. The Church also send and trained a young man (short term course) with Church support and commissioned him to reach the unreached people groups around them. I commissioned him on July 03,2005. This is a big encouragement and challenge to all new believers and Churches. Some of our Churches even hundred years old are not sending missionaries but Genang Rabha Church is like the early Church, three year old Church is now missionary sending Church. Please pray for Genang Rapha Church.
3. CONSTRUCTION OF TRAINING CENTER
The construction of Training Center is on with full swing. By God뭩 grace the foundations is almost completed. We need prayers for more funds and God뭩 protections on the construction works. The work is little bit slow because all the constructions are doing manually and need God뭩 hand on it. Please pray for early completion so that we may be able to start training as early as possible.
4. SOME GOD뭆 MIRACLES IN ASSAM.
Mr. Mohindra of Soruadol Village: Mr. Mohindra accepted the Lord Jesus Christ few years back. His Hindu friends have been persuading him to reconvert to Hinduism again since he became a new believer. His two sons died on just one day. The Hindu friends told him it was because he became Christian both of his sons died on a day. His friends brought a goat to offer Hindu god and asked him to become Hindu again. They kept the goat near his house and left. Christians prayed over the goat and the goat fell down and died immediately. After seeing it Mohindra declared that he would never go back to his old religion and now he is very strong believer in the Lord. Please pray for Mohindra for his daily strength.
Mr. Modon Dhobi, Moijunga Tea Garden: Mr. Modon was a snake charmer. On April 13, 2005 our Evangelist Sukumar met him and shared about Christ. But there were lot of arguments between them. Modon said I can pick up any snake but snake will never bite me and was so proud to be a snake charmer. Modon said he will show his power and will play with snake and invited people to come and see his power with snake. He therefore brought a snake and started playing with it but snake bitten him one on his hand and other on his leg. His leg swollen and wound on his hand started producing germs. Some big germs started coming out from the wounds. He went to his teacher(guru) for healing and also used medicines but there was no healing. Our Pastor went and met Modon and asked him whether he needs prayers and he said yes. So our Pastor took few people with him and prayed over Modon after reading few Scripture verses. When they prayed over Modon the Lord Jesus Christ touched him and completely healed him. He saw the power of Jesus Christ and decided to accept Him as his personal Lord and Savior. He is given water baptism recently and now very good believer. Please pray for Modon.
Prayer Needs:
1. Please pray for all the 22 new churches in Assam that new doctrine will not confused them. 2. Pray for more sponsors to reach more people groups in Assam. 3. Pray for Revival/Healing Crusade in Goalpara town, Assam in January 2006. We are praying for Hindus and Muslims to come and receive healing and Salvation in Christ during crusade. 4. Pray for my trip to Assam again very soon for God뭩 protection. The weather is very hot and need rain. Thank you for all your prayers and support.
