Dimapur: The Withee Mission International (WMI) with the banner Mission Naga is girding its cassock-loins to mobilize young Naga people to serve as missionaries in the neighbouring non-Christian states of India and other nations.
The WMI is an international mission based in South Korea with its record of missionaries deputed in various countries to evangelize the unreached world.
This time the WMI in association with different bible colleges and seminaries is targeting to mobilize the young Nagas.
A team of seven people (women) from WMI, South Korea, including a girl-child is in Dimapur to lay the ground-works for an ensuing youth mission conference.
While talking with this Reporter, Bokali K. Chishi, Coordinator of Withee Mission International Liaison Office, Dimapur (WMILOD) said that Mission Naga will start off with 'Mission Naga Student Mission Conference' to be held from June 25 to July 1 this year at Eastern Bible College (EBC), Dimapur and the same conferences will be held after every two years.
Miss Joy Kim, Coordinator of WMI said that between the conferences, there will be various seminars, training programmes, orientation courses for volunteers, etc as a follow-up programme for the mobilized youths.
Mrs Divine Lim, a member of the visiting Korean team also said "God wants to use Naga people like Koreans in a special way and that is why WMI is focusing in Nagaland". The beauty of this Mission will be a partnership between different colleges and seminaries and other mission agencies which will also the Organizing Committee of the proposed Mission.
Officials of WMILOD highlighted that the Mission Naga will be a non-denominational and independent association of evangelical young adults and supported by WMI.
The first Mission Naga Student Mission Conference is being organized with the challenging theme "Renew, The Forgotten Calling".
About 50 South Koreans are expected to attend the first conference as resources persons, leaders, moderators and others.
The WMI will be the main sponsor of the conference, while WSBAK will be the co-sponsor. |
